TANZANIA Tourist Board (TTB) is set to conduct the first tourism road show for the year, in South Korea next May.
The roadshows will take place in Seoul and Busan on May 25 and 27, respectively.
"With the road show, TTB aims to unlock and promote Tanzania in the South Korea tourism market," TTB was quoted as saying by Tanzania Daily News.
About 26.5 million outbound tourists from South Korea visited several countries in 2018 and 0.03% of them traveled Tanzania that same year, according to UNWTO.
Meanwhile, TTB said tourism stakeholders will also participate at the Korean World Travel Fair (KOFTA) from 21-24 May.
KOTFA is the largest international travel fair in Korea where 70 countries promote their tourism sectors and cultures.
Tourism revenue in Tanzania $2.43 billion in 2018 compared with $2.19 billion in 2017, according to data released by Tanzania’s Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa last April.
Tanzania’s tourism sector is expected to contribute 18.3% to the country’s GDP by 2020.
