The TAIGAFEST festival will be held in Vladivostok, Khabarovsk and Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky from October 10 to 20. This year's theme will be Far Eastern legends and tales of the taiga. In addition to traditional meat sets, fish and vegetarian sets will be presented, the Tourism Portal of Primorsky Krai reported.
“The mission of the festival is to reveal the potential of non-timber use of taiga resources through gastronomy and unite the gastronomic community of the region. According to established tradition, the basis of the gastronomic festival will be taiga sets created by chefs of the Far East. Wild plants, river fish, game, honey and nuts are the products that the Far Eastern taiga will feed festival guests,” the message notes.
According to the portal, interesting drinks will be selected to accompany the dishes - from taiga tea to creative cocktails and unusual wines.
“The festival set is a reflection of the chefs’ own view of the taiga as a gastronomic resource. The composition and its ideological content will tell its unique taiga legend on behalf of the restaurant,” the message notes.
The TAIGAFEST festival has been held since 2017 by the team of the Pacific Russia Food project for the development of Far Eastern cuisine.
