You can see falling stars and make a wish in the mountains of Sochi. The musical and astronomical festival "Swift's Comet 2022" will be held at the Rosa Khutor resort from August 12 to 14. It is on these days that the Perseid meteor shower passes over the Earth, particles of a comet the size of a grain of sand enter the atmosphere and light up, leaving fiery traces in the sky. In an hour, up to 100 such shooting stars can be seen in the night sky. The culprit of such an unusual phenomenon is the Swift-Tuttle comet. It is she who drops a huge number of meteors, passing her orbital path. The speed of their movement reaches more than 100 thousand miles per hour. Burning in the atmosphere, they leave characteristic light stripes. Although meteors are visible in any part of the night sky, they all come from one point - the constellation Perceus.
