Come March 24, the Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden in Srinagar will be open to visitors. Around this time, that is from April 3 to 20, the city of Srinagar will be hosting the annual Tulip Festival, also known as the Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden Festival.

The spring season, typically from late March to early April, is the time when the tulips start to bloom.

The festival, held in the Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden, overlooks the famous Dal Lake and is one of Srinagar's most popular tourist attractions. The garden, spread over an area of around 30 hectares, is the most extensive tulip garden in Asia.

The garden has over 1.5 million tulips of different colours and varieties.

The festival draws in visitors from all over the country and the world, not just to see the beautiful tulips in full bloom, but also to experience various cultural programs, food stalls, and other activities that showcase the rich culture and traditions of Kashmir.

The tulip blooms don't last very long. Usually, they will be around till the end of April. The garden stays open to the public only during this blooming period.
