Spontaneous dump liquidated on Lake Baikal in the village of Ust-Barguzin

In the Republic of Buryatia, in December, work was completed to eliminate a landfill in the village of Ust-Barguzin in the central ecological zone of the Baikal natural territory. This was reported by the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia on its website.

The spontaneous dump is included in the category of the most dangerous objects of accumulated harm to the environment, which are being liquidated under the federal project "Clean Country" of the national project "Ecology".

In the course of the work, almost 200 thousand cubic meters of municipal solid waste were removed and liquidated, nine hectares of land subject to the negative effects of accumulated environmental damage were restored.
