Dredging will take place on 22 rivers of the resort. These are the first items that need to be cleared.

“Clearing the riverbed, as well as restoration work on hydraulic structures, must be completed before the end of 2023. The allocated funds for these works are not enough, therefore, a separate instruction will be given to the Ministry of Nature of the Territory to work out a decision and determine sources of funding in terms of additional regional programs and federal funding. This directly affects the safety and life of people,” said Sergey Boldin, Vice Governor of the Krasnodar Territory.

On the territory of Sochi there are more than 130 water bodies with a total length of more than 2800 kilometers. During the floods, 36 rivers pose the greatest threat. Now the clearing of riverbeds in the city is carried out according to four programs. After the end of the spawning period, the clearing of the Kepsha, Mzymta, Kudepsta, Sochi, Ashe, Shakh, Psezuapse rivers will begin in Sochi. Socially responsible business will be involved in their clearing.
