Sochi National Park will spend over 25 million rubles on land surveying. The total area will cover 208.6 ha. The winner of the tender was Moscow State University of Geodesy and Cartography.

“The formation of land plots occupied by Olympic construction facilities in accordance with the territory planning documentation (DPT) developed during their construction is not the subject of this agreement,” the procurement materials said.

Sochi National Park was created in 1983 to protect nature due to the large influx of tourists. It is located on the territory of Greater Sochi - from the Tuapse district in the northwest to the borders with Abkhazia in the southeast and from the Black Sea coast to the Main Caucasian Range. The main value of the national park is mountain forests, which occupy 94.1 percent of the area. The park borders on the UNESCO Western Caucasus World Heritage Site. The national park includes the Krasnaya Polyana district, on the territory of which the mountain-tourist center of Gazprom, the Rosa Khutor ski complex and the Krasnaya Polyana resort were built.

Works on surveying the national park will begin after the conclusion of the contracts and will be completed no later than October 21, 2020.
