Beac intends to launch a project to improve Lake Manzherok in the Altai Republic, which is directly related to the construction of the largest resort in Russia. The environmental project for 800 million rubles is co-financed by the Savings Bank in an equal share with the federal government, according to media reports.

"Manzherok Lake has been degraded since the 1970s and it needs restoration. Without our intervention, it will simply die, and with it endemic plant and animal species <...> Scientists have been sounding the alarm for more than 50 years, but only today we have a real opportunity to save Manzherok," said Vladimir Shcherbinin, CEO of Manzherok VC.

The project is expected to help preserve the unique nature of Altai, as well as attract tourists to the region.
