Due to the actions of poachers, the population of the white falcon has sharply decreased in Russia. This species lives only in Kamchatka and is very popular at international auctions.

"We began to study the whole history of this falcon, how it goes, where it goes. We arrived in the United Arab Emirates, met with the crown prince, talked about how we can stop this poaching," the chairman of the State Duma Committee on Ecology, Natural Resources and environmental protection Dmitry Kobylkin commented on the results of a meeting on the conservation and restoration of rare bird species in Russia.

According to him, in the coming weeks, 84 individuals of gyrfalcons will be brought to the Kamchatka falconry center. He said that this center was created without attracting public funds at the expense of the company's investors.

"We must, of course, continue the revival of this population and continue to hold auctions with the participation of Arab sheikhs on the territory of the Russian Federation, as well as hold events related to falconry competitions," Kobylkin emphasized.

Falconry is recognized by UNESCO as a masterpiece of living intangible culture of mankind. Experienced falconers will train birds in the Kamchatka center.
