The creation of a single digital forest management center in Russia will help form a single information platform in this area, which will increase the effectiveness of the country's forestry management, as claimed by the vice-speaker of the Federation Council, chairman of the interagency working group to improve forest legislation Yuri Vorobyov.
According to him, modern technologies are simply necessary in the management of such large complex systems as the forest industry of the Russian Federation.
According to the vice speaker, an example of creating such solutions is the public forest portal of the Regional Geographic Information System of the Moscow Region, which is integrated with the service of the Region’s Management Center near Moscow.
Using an interactive map in real time you can get all the information about the forests. Information on all the activities carried out by the forestry department of the region is promtly posted there, from the areas where sanitary felling is carried out to the coordinates of the sites on which seedlings with a closed root system are planted. The portal allows to control the execution of forestry operations, in addition, the digitization made it possible to identify all the land plots which cross the lands of the forest fund. The work of the public forest portal was presented by the Chairman of the Forestry Committee of the Moscow Region, Ivan Sovetnikov.
The concept of introducing the Digital Forest digital platform for forest management was prepared jointly by the Federal Forestry Agency and the Russian Ministry of Natural Resources. The key objectives of such a platform are the provision of state and municipal services in the field of forest relations remotely in electronic form for citizens, business entities, state and public organizations.
Moreover, the digital platform will allow interested parties to receive reliable information about the current state of forest areas and other necessary information, which is now being generated on paper. The document is approved by all interested departments and will soon be sent to the Government of the Russian Federation.
