According to Rostourism, the signed cooperation agreement with the Russian Agricultural Bank provides for information interaction to promote agritourism and joint activities to promote rural tourism in Russia. The parties agreed on mutual expert support, organization of promotion and implementation of infrastructure projects, participation in specialized exhibitions.
“For me, rural tourism is such a format of recreation that makes it possible to escape from the bustle of the city, return to childhood, to those very holidays in the countryside, which have their own taste and their own unique, warm atmosphere. Modern rural tourism combines both outdoor recreation and an ethno-cultural program, which is built on the preservation of traditions, authentic life, and gastronomy. Today it is important to create conditions for the development of agritourism,” said Zarina Doguzova, head of Rostourism, whose words are quoted in the agency’s message.
According to her, there are many tasks in this direction - from the arrangement of tourist infrastructure to the formation of new routes through beautiful and unique spaces with immersion in the rural atmosphere.
“We have a competition for grants for small and medium-sized businesses, including for supporting agricultural projects. Attracting tourists to the agricultural sector will create additional jobs, will contribute to the inflow of investments into villages and rural settlements, and will support the agricultural business,” she said.
The development of rural tourism is an important area for Rosselkhozbank, Boris Listov, chairman of the board of this financial institution, said in turn.
“Annually, this area can bring farmers up to 200 billion rubles in additional income to the main activity. The Bank is already helping farmers - we teach how to create agri-tours as part of our "Farmer's School", we have launched a platform for posting tourist offers "Own Outside the City", and since July we have been selling trips to farms in all Bank offices. I am convinced that the agreement will serve as a powerful driver for the development of domestic tourism, and hence rural areas,” Listov said.
