The Interfax-tourism portal, citing Abramchenko's press service, reported that at the moment there are not enough tourist infrastructure facilities on the shores of the lake to comfortably accommodate all visitors. Because of this, a significant number of citizens are accommodated on the unequipped shores of the lake, move outside the ecological paths, causing a significant anthropogenic impact on the environment.
Abramchenko stressed that it is necessary to take all measures to prevent the negative impact on the environment in the implementation of the growing tourism potential. Experts predict that in the next 10 years the number of tourists on Lake Baikal will double.
