The press service of Kavkaz.RF spoke about how ski resorts are preparing for the winter season. Elbrus will be among the first to open the season. Already, more than a thousand athletes representing the Russian alpine skiing, snowboarding and freestyle skiing teams, as well as regional teams from various parts of the country, are training on the glacier.
In the winter season, about 17 km of ski slopes will be available for ski lovers. Among them are the highest mountain routes in the country, located at an altitude of almost 4 thousand meters above sea level in the area of the Garabashi and Mir cable car stations.
In the upcoming winter season, it is planned to build eight more ski trails with a length of 6 kilometers and put into operation two additional cable cars. Special trails with a rope tow are also being prepared for the season for beginners in skiing and children.
You don’t have to be a climber or skier to admire the peaks of Elbrus. For hikers, there are three modern gondola-type cable cars with a length of more than 5 kilometers. They allow you to transport more than 6 thousand people per hour.
Today is the last week of pre-sale of winter ski passes at the Elbrus resort. Until the end of October, you can buy an unlimited seasonal ticket with a discount of more than 20%. There is also a discount on multi-day rates from 5 to 10 days.
Tourists are also welcome at the Veduchi resort in the Chechen Republic. Here you can go skiing and snowboarding, including on a training slope. All-season tubing with a travelator is also available to guests.
You can admire the Argun Gorge by riding a chairlift almost a kilometer long. Along the way, you will also enjoy unforgettable views of the Nikhaloevsky waterfalls, the Ushkaloy twin towers and the museum in Itum-Kali.
