In winter, specialists of the national park work to study bats in caves, since a significant part of the population of these animals flies to the caves and grottoes of the Torgashinsky Range and the Yenisei karst area for wintering. As a result of the inspection, 12 individuals were found, among Ushan Ogneva, northern kozhanok, eastern bat, large tube-nosed.
"Tube-noses hung on the wall, huddled in a small ball of five individuals. A couple more animals are nearby," the press service of the Ministry of Natural Resources said.
Tubenose are quite rare animals. They are listed in the regional Red Books of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Khakassia, Tyva, Buryatia, Altai, Novosibirsk, Kemerovo and Irkutsk Regions with the status of a rare and little-studied species.
All discovered animals settled comfortably on steep and negative walls so that natural enemies could not reach them: predators, rodents and insectivores. The bats have chosen a small cave with a narrow entrance, located some distance from the popular hiking trails, as their winter refuge.
National park specialists reminded that visitors should follow certain rules in the caves. In particular, you need to visit them in small groups and not linger for a long time indoors. The fact is that the presence of a crowd of people in the closed space of the cave raises the air temperature in it, which is undesirable for bats.
