The government of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug and Gazprombank, UK STK Sheregesh and AZIMUT Hotels, on behalf of the joint company LLC IFR-Kharp, signed a concession agreement on the design, construction and operation of the infrastructure of the Rai-Iz mountain tourist complex in the Polar Urals.

“As part of the project, engineering surveys have already started. The commissioning of the facility is scheduled for 2026, this will be the first comprehensive investment project in Russia in the tourism sector, which is being implemented on a concession basis, ”the YNAO government reports on its website.

It is planned to create ski slopes with a length of at least 19 kilometers, including at least two lifts that will provide comfortable skiing for 4310 skiers at the same time. The tracks will be equipped with lighting and navigation systems. In addition, the project provides for the creation of ski schools, parking lots, two hotels - three-star and four-star - with a total number of rooms of at least 320 rooms with conference centers, restaurants and a spa complex with an area of at least 3 thousand square meters.

According to the authorities of the region, this project is very relevant, since the demand for domestic tourism is constantly growing, and Yamal has something to offer.

“The unique Arctic nature, the mountains of the Polar Urals, the authenticity of the indigenous peoples of the North. The proximity of the region to federal centers plays in our favor - only three hours by plane, and at the same time we have the longest ski season in the country, more than 200 days a year. Yamal may well become and will become a serious competitor to the already well-known ski resorts,” said Dmitry Artyukhov, the governor of the YNAO, whose words are quoted in the message.
