The state-owned company SEPAQ, which manages national parks in the canadian province of Quebec, announced the temporary dismissal of 450 of its employees in connection with the threat of the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus.

Due to the crisis, all national parks in Quebec have been closed for a week.

"We are talking about 450 people, and this number could increase to more than 700 if the crisis persists until the beginning of May," said SEPAQ spokesman Simon Boivin.

Quebec is the most affected province of Canada by the coronavirus epidemic. The number of cases there exceeds more than 1.000 people.
