San Juan, the capital of Puerto Rico, turns 500 years old this year.

It was in 1521 that the Spanish conquistadors founded this city, which, thanks to its fortifications, paved streets, squares and courtyards, preserved the flavor of that distant era.

On the occasion of the anniversary, the tourism industry of Puerto Rico has planned a series of events, including concerts, festivals and excursions. The celebrations will last until June 2022.

In particular, the San Juan Museum has organized two thematic exhibitions dedicated to the 500th anniversary of the city. You can also take a guided walking tour of the historical center of the capital of Puerto Rico.

Puerto Rico has one of the highest vaccination rates among Caribbean countries. 74% of Puerto Ricans are fully vaccinated.
