Six investors are ready to invest more than 13 billion rubles in private investment in tourism projects in the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation, according to the press service of the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East.
"Today, we are already concluding a binding agreement with six investors, they receive the status of residents of the Arctic zone and will implement projects in the field of tourism and invest more than 13 billion in private investments in this area," said Alexander Krutikov, First Deputy Head of the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East who spoke at the «Arctic: present and future» forum.
The largest among the already announced projects is the port of Liinakhamari in the Murmansk region.
Earlier it was reported that Port Liinakhamari LLC (a subsidiary of Norilsk Nickel) entered into an investment activity agreement, which gives the company the Arctic zone resident status and will allow the company to implement a tourist cluster project in the Murmansk region, near the Russian-Norwegian border. "This is a complex project that provides for the construction of a ski complex, four hotels, glamping, as well as an aquatic center. It should start working by 2027," Krutikov said.
The aim of the project is the development of natural and ecological tourism in the region. The necessary world-class infrastructure will be created on the territory of the TC to open the region for cruise ships, yachts, including the development of diving, sea fishing, etc.
