The Clean Norilsk program for cleaning the city of scrap metal and garbage has been completed by 40% today. This was stated by the president of the company "Norilsk Nickel" Vladimir Potanin.
The program was launched in 2021 with the expectation of its implementation until 2030. In ten years, Norilsk Nickel plans to dismantle about 500 facilities, remove two million tons of garbage and remove 600 tons of scrap metal from city sites.
The volume of investments in the program should amount to 40 billion rubles, Potanin said.
By the spring of this year, 2.6 million square meters of land were cleared of scrap metal and garbage as part of the environmental project.
In total, since 2021, 291 emergency and unused facilities have been dismantled out of the planned 500, the press service of Norilsk Nickel reported.
