An unprecedented number of flights and a record passenger traffic to Crimea forced the Simferopol airport to partially use the international area of the terminal to serve domestic flights. This was reported by the press service of the airport.

"The route network of flights at Simferopol Airport has already reached 63 destinations - the maximum in modern history. For the first time in history, the airport will serve 2 million passengers already in June, while earlier this figure was reached only by July. At the moment, daily traffic already exceeds 35 thousand passengers. The number of flights - 200 for arrivals and departures, which in previous years was observed in August," noted the press service of the airport.

At the same time, airlines continue to send applications for the opening of new flights. Therefore, the airport has to monitor the flight arrival schedule as closely as possible in order to distribute them evenly throughout the day.

The company says that the infrastructure of the international zone help serve people with limited mobility are served, as well as organized tourist and children's groups. At the same time, the airport has to constantly interact with tour operators in order to avoid the simultaneous arrival of large groups of tourists.

The Crimean authorities expect that about eight million tourists will visit the peninsula by the end of this year, and thus the republic will be able to set a new tourist record since Soviet times.
