Passengers over 60 will be able to travel in compartment cars with a discount next year

Passengers on long-distance trains formed by JSC FPC (a subsidiary of JSC Russian Railways) aged 60 and over will be able to travel in compartment cars with a 15% discount in 2023.

“The decision to provide a discount on the tariff plan “For Passengers 60+” was made to increase the availability of travel for this category of citizens, which will allow them to travel within the country with greater comfort,” the Russian Railways website said in a statement.

This tariff plan will be valid for almost the entire 2023 year, with the exception of some periods.

Passengers can buy tickets now, and make trips - from January 10 to February 21, from February 28 to April 24, from May 16 to May 31, from September 16 to October 30, from November 7 to December 21, 2023.

“Issuance of travel documents at a discount is possible no later than 7 days before the date of travel. To receive a discount at the box office, passengers simply need to present an identity document that contains information about the date of birth. When issuing an electronic ticket, the discount will be applied automatically after entering information about the date of birth.

The discount cannot be combined with other special offers.

Passengers can learn more about the conditions on the official website of Russian Railways in the section “Tariffs and promotions.

The company also reminded that when buying tickets for high-speed trains "Sapsan" and "Lastochka" formed by the Directorate of High-Speed Communications of Russian Railways for passengers over 60 years old, there is a permanent discount of 30% for the Senior tariff plan.
