A new eco-route for pedestrians, cyclists and lovers of jogging and outdoor activities is planned to be opened in the east of Moscow along the Yauza River. According to the concept of integrated landscaping, it will connect the Main Botanical Garden of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Losiny Ostrov National Park and pass through the largest green zones of the two districts - North-Eastern Administrative District and Eastern Administrative District. The length of the route will be over 10 kilometers.
Cycling enthusiasts will be able to ride with a breeze along the Yauza on a separate convenient bike path, admire the views of the Losiny Ostrov, Sokolniki, Aqueduct, Garden of the Future, Leonovskaya Grove parks.
“It is not always convenient to get from one park to the other: public gardens and natural zones along the northern Yauza pass under railway bridges and highways. On the way of those who want to get from Sokolniki to the Losiny Ostrov national park, there is now an obstacle: vacationers need to turn around the river and make a detour of several kilometers. Therefore, within the framework of the improvement concept, it is proposed to equip an eco-bridge across the Yauza to connect the route.
A new vote has been launched on the Active Citizen portal, where residents will be able to express their point of view. In total, six multiple-choice questions were put up for discussion of the eco-route, each with differing expert opinions. Also on the site you can see the scheme of the planned route.
