From 3.6 to 4.7 million tourists visited Greater Paris in June-August, according to data from the Paris Tourism Bureau.

In 2019, the French capital received 2.6 million travelers, and in the pre - pandemic 2019 - 10.2 million.

The absence of travelers from Asia and South America significantly affected the reduction in the tourist flow. At the same time, the share of French tourists increased from 50% to 65%.

This, however, did not compensate for the losses of the hotel business, which lost more than 60% of its income.

It is significant that the number of daily visits to the Eiffel Tower, the main tourist symbol of the French capital, decreased to 13.000  against 25.000 in the years preceding the coronavirus pandemic.
