The persimmon Festival was held in Bulgaria. This southern fruit is very healthy. It contains so many vitamins and biologically active substances that the ancient Greeks called persimmon "divine food". And in Bulgaria it is also called "paradise apples".

"Eat persimmons from the Cherry tree to be healthy and happy!" is the slogan of the festival in the ancient village. It is here, among the Balkan mountains, that the best persimmon in Bulgaria grows. And this is no accident: almost a hundred years ago, seedlings of elite varieties were brought here from the royal nursery. The fact is that the Hrishchensky priest was friends with Boris III's personal gardener. At the request of friends from the royal possessions, 16 seedlings of golden persimmon were allocated, which perfectly took root in the mountains.

Today, in the village of Hrisheni, descendants of those first trees grow in almost every yard. The wonderful climate and good care have done their job: local fruits are appreciated throughout Bulgaria. During the harvest season of paradise apples, a persimmon festival is held here every year. This year it fell in the middle of November.

In addition to the beautiful orange fruits, customers were able to watch performances of local folklore ensembles and enjoy persimmon products. Not only traditional jams and jams were displayed on the shelves, but also a very popular delicacy here – dried rings of paradise apples. Lovers of more thrills were poured cider, wine, beer and even raki from persimmon fruits.

The popularity of the products of local gardeners leads to the annual expansion of the fruit plantations of the village of Hrisheni and becomes the main source of income for the population. And the consumption of this healthy fruit helps to improve the cardiovascular system, improve vision and rejuvenate the skin.
