The magnificent nature reserves of the Crimea Opuksky and Kazantipsky resumed their work and are ready to receive guests. Both protected areas are part of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “Zapovedny Crimea” and are closely monitored by scientists.

These protected areas are very popular among residents and guests of the peninsula, therefore, every year, by decision of a special scientific council, the reserves stop receiving visitors for a certain period so that nature can recover. This period is called the «silence mode».

In addition, in order to reduce the anthropogenic load on the reserves from the presence of humans, excursions around them are conducted exclusively with an instructor at a strictly defined time and along a pre-worked out route.

Both reserves are famous not only for their natural resources and exceptional nature, but also for their curious archaeological sites. Thus, in the Opuk reserve, the tourist route includes the ancient settlement of Kimmerik (VI century BC - IV century AD), the Citadel (IV century AD), the catacomb complex and quarries in the east of the summit plateau of the mountain Opuk, Rocks-ships and Koyashskoe lake.
