Work to prevent illegal cutting of coniferous trees on the eve of the New Year holidays has been intensified.

The press service of the national park said that the inspectors conduct foot patrols, check remote areas daily. Particular attention is paid to areas where young coniferous trees are planted.

Security guards also carry out preventive work with the population. Visitors are told why live spruces should not be cut in the forest, what harm it does to ecosystems, and what punishment awaits violators.

The report notes that illegal felling of fir trees is punishable by a fine of three to four thousand rubles. At the same time, the fine for officials will be from 15 to 20 thousand rubles, and for legal entities - from 300 to 500 thousand. The instruments of the offense and felled trees will also be confiscated, in addition, the offender will be charged damages from illegal actions.

Last year, thanks to the joint work of the National Park services, there were no cases of vandal tree cutting last year.
