The anniversary marathon "Pushkin-Petersburg" will be held on September 3. This is the oldest track and field run in Russia and one of the oldest in Europe.
“The first race took place in 1923. The 100th anniversary of the run is celebrated in 2023," the city's tourist portal Visit Petersburg reported.
The competition routes are certified by AIMS, an association of international marathons and races.
There are different distances - 5, 10, 30 and 42.2 km. The finish of all competitions will be located in the very heart of the Northern capital - on Palace Square.
The marathon race (42.2 km) is expected to run along the route Pushkin - Moskovsky Prospekt - the center of St. Petersburg - Palace Square.
