Tourist access to one of the most popular routes of the Land of the Leopard National Park (Primorsky Territory) - “Deer and the Sea” near the Gamow Peninsula - has been restored. After the level of the rivers, which overflowed their banks due to heavy rains, dropped, several bridges were reconstructed here and the passage was restored. Roszapovedtsentr reported this on its website.

“Excursions along a unique route, including a visit to a deer park and access to the shores of the Far Eastern Marine Reserve (Primorsky Territory), were canceled due to the impact of the elements - a powerful cyclone in the last days of August. The downpours led to devastating consequences for infrastructure and nature, and therefore emergency restoration work was carried out in the protected areas,” the report notes.

Immediately after the heavy rains, the national park began to eliminate the consequences of the disaster. The work is still ongoing.

“Thanks to the efforts of the Land of the Leopard employees, six bridge structures have been restored, access to the deer park has been opened, and the infrastructure of the tourist route has been put in order,” said the Roszapovedtsentr.

The place where the route passes is popular among tourists due to its picturesque steep slopes with Red Book plants - dense-flowered pine and Schlippenbach rhododendron, as well as its proximity to the sea. At the end of last year, a new viewing platform was opened here on Cape Ostry. From there, an unforgettable view of the reference water area of the Far Eastern Marine Reserve in Peter the Great Bay opens up, the center noted.

“The natural diversity and incredibly beautiful landscapes of Peter the Great Bay and the adjacent coast attract people from all over Russia. One of the main tasks of the development of ecological tourism in the specially protected natural areas located here is the creation of such tourism infrastructure that will make visiting these areas safe both for the unique nature and for the tourists themselves,” said Olesya Storozhuk, deputy director of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “Land of the Leopard”, the words of which are given in the message.

The Roszapovedtsentr reported that in early September, employees of the directorate of the Land of the Leopard nature reserves participated in large-scale emergency restoration work on the Kravtsovskie Falls ecological trail. Currently, the tourist routes “Leopard Trail”, “Kravtsovskie Waterfalls”, “Deer and the Sea” and “Semiverstka” are open for visiting in the protected area.
