This year the main exhibition of the country turns 83 years old. On August 6 and 7, Muscovites and guests of the capital will be able to appreciate the festive program with concerts, performances, lectures and excursions. More than 200 events await visitors in total.

On August 6, eight special sites dedicated to a certain historical period of the exhibition will be equipped on the Main Alley. Each will recreate the atmosphere corresponding to a particular era - starting from the 1930s and ending with today. The performances of theatrical actors and circus performers will be held at these venues all day long.

On Saturday, costumed parades will be held along the Central Alley, in which everyone can take part. The legendary cartoon characters Cheburashka, Crocodile Gena, the old woman Shapoklyak, the Wolf and the Hare from "Well, you wait!", Leo Boniface and other heroes will march along the main street of VDNKh with songs and dances.

Another highlight of the holiday will be the performance of the riders of the Kremlin Riding School on the lead circle of the Center for National Equestrian Traditions. Rigging masters will perform acrobatic stunts.

In the evening of the same day, a festive concert "Through Time" will take place.

On Sunday, August 7, Elena et les garçons will perform on the roof of the Worker and Collective Farm Woman pavilion. Musicians will perform songs from their favorite films and popular Soviet melodies for VDNKh guests.

Free excursions, lectures, children's performances, a face painting workshop and sketching lessons will also be organized for the participants of the holiday.

Pavilion "Robostation" will introduce visitors to several robots. One of them will greet guests and test their knowledge of the history of VDNKh in a quiz format. Another robot will play table football with visitors during the day.

During the holiday weekend, VDNKh will also offer ice cream according to an old recipe and branded lemonade.

The recipe for vanilla ice cream with a plum layer and hazelnuts was recreated according to archival documents.

This is the kind of ice cream that was sold at VDNKh in the Soviet years. Ice cream kiosks will be open throughout the exhibition on 6 and 7 August.
