The Sulfur Project implemented by the Norilsk Nickel company will enable to create more than 1,000 new jobs, says TASS citing the company's vice-president Andrey Grachev, who spoke at the II International Forum-Exhibition, “Clean Country”.
The Sulfur Project is a project for the utilization of sulfur dioxide at the enterprises of the Polar Division of Norilsk Nickel.
"I must say that we have already made serious progress within this program. Last year, in fact, 5 billion rubles were allocated under this program last year. We have launched the construction of temporary residential complexes for future workers. In total, 5.5 thousand people will be involved in the program, we will create more than a thousand new jobs,» he said.
According to him, the implementation of the project is scheduled for 2022, and reach the declared capacity in 2023.
Investments in the Sulfur project are estimated at 250 billion rubles.
The project is expected to help reduce sulfur dioxide emissions in the Norilsk industrial region by 85%.
