New Zealand authorities have promised after the end of the COVID-19 pandemic to take measures against tourists who do not hesitate to relieve themselves in the middle of the archipelago's natural landscapes.
New Zealanders constantly complained about foreign tourists who travel around the country in motorhomes without toilets and do not hesitate to defecate along the roads.
Tourism Minister Stuart Nash told reporters that authorities are considering banning travelers from renting motorhomes that are not equipped with toilets.
Before the pandemic, tourism was a major source of income for New Zealand, which received about four million foreign tourists each year.
The tourism sector brought in about 16.2 billion NZD annually to the country's economy (9.4 billion euro).
