It will be built on the territory of the Troitsk excavation in the Novgorod Museum-Reserve. The total area of the complex will be 6200 square meters.

The center will perform several key tasks at once. In addition to scientific and educational activities, it will perform two more functions - storage and restoration.

The press service of Glavgosexpertiza reported that the center will be provided with the necessary conditions for storing artifacts and equipped with equipment for restoration, for example, a unique installation for instant wood freezing.

The storage halls will house a department for the study of archaeological collections, special pantries, a receiver for temporary receipts, and rooms for storing a reference collection of dendro specimens.

Workshops and laboratories will be rooms for fixing finds, for working with wet leather, organic matter, birch bark, and ceramics. The building will also house an office space for the funds of numismatics, sphragistics and faleristics, textiles and leather, the office of the chief custodian and custodians of metal and weapons, and many other premises.
