Moscow and St. Petersburg announced the winners of the World Travel Awards

The capital of Russia won in two nominations. Moscow is recognized as a Europe's Leading City Destination and Europe's Leading City Tourist Board.  

According to the results of an open vote on the WTA website, St. Petersburg won in three nominations at once. The Northern capital was recognized as Europe's Leading Heritage Destination and Europe's Leading City Break Destination.

Other finalists of the competition also included Rome, London, Berlin, Lisbon, Venice, Amsterdam, Lyon, Barcelona, Vienna, Geneva.

The International World Travel Awards was established in 1993. It is considered one of the most prestigious awards in the field of tourism - it is called the tourist "Oscar".
