54% of travelers around the world want to opt out of mass tourism in 2020, another 51 percent prefer to travel to a lesser-known destination to reduce the impact of their travel on the environment. That’s according to the latest electronic survey conducted by tourist service aggregators.
The study found that the greatest desire to go in the new year to the so-called secondary destination, which is not mapped by mass tourism, showed residents of India (66%), Thailand and Colombia (65%), as well as France (54%).
Almost half -48% of the survey participants- expressed a desire to get to the place of rest by train. At the same time, 64% of respondents dream of traveling on a passenger train, similar to the "Eastern Express", familiar to us from the novel by Agatha Christie.
Respondents aged 18 and over who had travelled in the past 12 months or planned to do so in the next 12 months were asked to take part in the study.
The survey covered 22,000 people in Australia, Germany, France, Spain, great Britain, Russia, Italy, China, Brazil, India, Indonesia, Colombia, South Korea, Japan, New Zealand, Thailand, Argentina, Belgium, Denmark, Hong Kong, Canada, Taiwan, Mexico, the Netherlands, Singapore, France, Croatia, Sweden and Japan.
