71% of international tourists would like travel agencies to offer customers more eco-friendly travel options. That’s according to the latest electronic survey conducted by tourist service aggregators.
The study found that for 70% of respondents it is the mention of "environmentally responsible" accommodation that can encourage them to book this type of accommodation, although it is not one of the most popular on the platform.
At the same time, 72% of international travelers said that it is not always easy for them to identify "green" accommodation facilities, because they have no information about special labels that are provided for tourist infrastructure which does not harm the environment.
More than half of the survey participants reported that in an effort to reduce their environmental footprint they prefer, where possible, Hiking and Cycling.
68% of respondents said they are not indifferent to the impact of tourism on the economy of the country visited, and would like the money they spend locally to support the well-being of local communities.
The survey covered more than 18,000 thousand people in Brazil, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Spain, Canada, China, Mexico, the Netherlands, South Korea, Taiwan, the UK, the US and France.
Respondents aged 18 to 55 who had travelled in the past 12 months or were planning to do so in the next 12 months were asked to take part in the study.
