More than 50 unauthorized landfills in Russia are planned to be eliminated this year as part of the Clean Country project

The press service of the Ministry of Natural Resources reported that Russian Deputy Prime Minister Abramchenko reported to Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin on the success of the Ecology national project. According to her, since the start of the Clean Country project, 58 unauthorized dumps with a total area of more than 500 hectares have been eliminated. The measures taken have improved the quality of life of more than 10 million people.

This year, 22.7 billion rubles are provided for work under the national project. The funds are planned to be directed to the elimination of 53 landfills.
Last year, the largest liquidated sites were unauthorized landfills in the city of Malgabek, Ingushetia, with an area of 21 hectares and in Nizhny Novgorod - 18 hectares. More than 4 billion rubles were allocated to the regions for their reclamation.
