The press service of the Ministry of Nature reported that in 2023, more than 4,000 volunteers joined the volunteer eco-movement. A little more than 2,000 volunteers are regular participants in eco-enterprises.

Volunteers help clean up natural areas from waste, participate in bird and animal records, and store food for the winter. Newcomers to volunteering are invited to take part in the Friends of the Moscow Nature project. They can also participate in clean-up days, eco-races and other events all year round. More experienced volunteers can help identify red-listed animals and plants, hang homemade feeders and birdhouses.

The Mosvolonter Resource Center and Mospriroda have been launching joint campaigns and projects for several years. These include the long-term assistance project "The Way of Good" for recruiting volunteers and the "Feed the Bird" campaign aimed at supporting birds wintering in the capital.
