The plans of Vodokhod LLC to develop cruise shipping in the waters of Lake Baikal were considered at a meeting in Ulan-Ude with the participation of Deputy Prime Minister, Plenipotentiary of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far Eastern Federal District Yury Trutnev.
The meeting discussed the implementation of investment projects in the field of tourism in Buryatia. This was reported by the Corporation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic (KRDV) on its website.
“In February last year, the company launched the Biryusa hovercraft onto the Baikal ice for the first Baikal tourist expedition from the Vodokhod company. In 2023, 26 cruises on the lake are planned.
Trutnev noted the high potential of Buryatia for the development of tourism.
“The Republic of Buryatia is very beautiful in terms of tourism: Lake Baikal, rivers, mountains, magnificent landscapes, constant sun, which we observe even these days. All this creates opportunities for a person to relax and communicate with our wonderful nature. Recently, the activation of investment projects in the field of tourism has begun,” the vice-premier of the KRDV said.
