The authorities of Montreal, the administrative capital of the French-speaking province of Canada - Quebec, received 1 million Canadian dollars from the federal government of the country to support a campaign to revive local tourism in the context of the coronavirus pandemic.

Montreal remains closed to foreign tourists, but the city authorities expect that in the coming weeks, the issue of opening the borders will be resolved positively during negotiations with representatives of the United States and Europe.

Before the COVID-19 pandemic, both markets brought almost 2.5 million CAD in tourist revenue to the Montreal economy every year.
