Scientists of the Sochi National Park explain this phenomenon in the warm autumn. Australia is considered the birthplace of the plant, but silver acacia, as mimosa is also called, is not uncommon in Sochi and Abkhazia

- Mimosa flowers near the border with Abkhazia bloomed earlier due to the relatively warm autumn without frost. But the predicted sub-zero temperatures at the resort can stop the flowering that has begun," said Galina Soltani, a leading researcher at the Sochi National Park.

The scientist noted that premature blooming of mimosa in Sochi has been observed before — there were years when it bloomed in December.
