“The event will provide visitors with a unique opportunity to travel to the most unusual corners of our country, including unique hard-to-reach nature reserves and national parks without leaving the capital,” the Russian Ministry of Natural Resources said on its website.
The festival program includes more than 80 lectures by famous scientists and travelers, creative meetings with photographers and filmmakers, master classes in folk art for children and adults, quizzes, and intellectual games.
Roszapovedtsentr of the Ministry of Natural Resources will present its own pavilion "Reserved Cordon". The interactive platform will contain information about specially protected natural areas and the country's rarest animal species.
“Daily from 18 to 28 August, at the Reserve Cordon, guests will be treated to lectures on reserved professions and rare species of animals, ecological workshops from nature reserves and national parks, screenings of thematic films, drawings and quizzes designed for a wide audience,” the head of Roszapovedtsentr Daria Matsuk was quoted as saying.
In addition, the center will present several environmental projects, including a round table with leading environmental experts “Business and Biodiversity”, an expedition to count polar bears on Wrangel Island, a large-scale photo project by Igor Shpilenok “Reserved Russia from Kola to Kamchatsky”.
Festival events will be held throughout the Zaryadye Park, including indoor spaces, as well as the square at the intersection of Varvarka and Moskvoretskaya streets. Access to all locations is free.
