The all-season resort "Baikalskaya Sloboda" will be created on the banks of the Angara in the Irkutsk region. On an area of 330 hectares, it is planned to build hotels and prefabricated accommodation facilities for 3,500 rooms, create entertainment facilities, an eco-park and infrastructure for beach tourism and winter activities.
The master plan for the creation of the resort was discussed at a meeting of the Board of Directors of JSC "Corporation Tourism.RF" with the participation of Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko.
“The main point of attraction will be its own marina with a lighthouse, a yacht club, an area for open and winter heated boat storage. Thanks to the implementation of the project, the Irkutsk region will receive new engineering infrastructure facilities, including sewerage networks. The project involves a phased implementation, the first guests will be able to visit the resort in 2027,” the corporation said on its website.
The Baikalskaya Sloboda resort will be located 40 kilometers from Irkutsk and 20 kilometers from Lake Baikal.
“The implementation of the master plan will make it possible to create an all-season resort on the territory of the Irkutsk region with the placement of tourist complexes, campsites, tourist parks, equipment for marinas and other facilities, which will directly increase the level of tourist attractiveness of the Irkutsk region, as well as new jobs and additional tax revenues to the budget region,” Tourism.RF quotes regional governor Igor Kobzev.
