“Lake Teletskoye is not only a UNESCO World Heritage Site, but also a real pearl of our country. This is one of the cleanest bodies of water in the whole world, and we must do everything possible to preserve its crystal clearness and uniqueness. The action "Water of Russia", which takes place within the framework of the national project "Ecology", will certainly help us in this. Over the past three years, more than 16,000 people have taken part in the action on the territory of the Altai Republic, over 700 kilometers of the coastline have been cleared,” said Oleg Khorokhordin, head of the Altai Republic.
He is quoted as saying on the website of the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia.
The organizers will provide volunteers with the necessary cleaning equipment, and after the completion of the action, those who wish can stay for the concert, take part in the lottery, competitions, and master classes.
Each participant of the campaign will be able to receive a diploma from the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Russian Federation by registering on the website of the Water of Russia campaign.
According to the ministry, last year, despite the difficult epidemiological situation, more than 18,000 activities were carried out to clean the banks of rivers, lakes and other water bodies from debris. More than 1.1 million people took part in them. In the first half of this year, actions were held in 61 regions. And almost half a million activists have already made a direct contribution to this important cause, the department noted.
