“Tourists will be able to see all the stages of making the drink: from growing grapes to the process of bottling cognac,” the Russia.travel portal reported.
As the resource notes, the plant in Kizlyar is one of the oldest enterprises in Dagestan and all of Russia: 1885 is considered the date of its foundation.
“But grape vodka-kizlyarka was prepared in these places back in the 17th century, and local distilleries were once appreciated by Peter I himself. At the end of the 19th century, Dagestan recipes became the basis for the emergence of cognac production in the country. The Kizlyar tradition of aging the drink in barrels made of mountain Caucasian oak is preserved to this day,” writes Russia.travel.
As reported on the site of the plant, excursions with extensive topics are provided for tourists.
The program will include historical objects of the plant, a unique museum with drinks from the last century, production workshops, as well as a tasting of drinks representing a variety of assortment: from a line of ordinary to collection cognacs.
