The Curonian Spit National Park (Kaliningrad Region) invites everyone to the traditional Day of Flights on August 31st,dedicated to the Year of the Family in Russia. The program will feature a kite festival and competition themed "Fantasies of My Childhood". The event will take place on the beach of the village of Lesnoy. Kites participating in the competition must be homemade and associated with childhood memories of family. Preliminary nominations include: most impressive flight, most original idea, most eco-friendly kite (made from recycled materials),most friendly team performance, and the audience award.
"The results will be announced during the festival. All participants will receive diplomas from the national park, and the winners will receive educational souvenirs and printed materials," the message says.
