Yugra to hold a meeting on measures taken to protect the area from natural fires

Russian Minister of Civil Defence, Emergencies and Disaster Management Yevgeny Zinichev and Russian Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology Dmitry Kobylkin will arrive in Yugorsk tomorrow on a working visit to hold a coordination meeting on the protection of settlements, economic facilities and infrastructure of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug from natural fires.

Governor of Ugra Natalya Komarova, chief federal inspector for the district Alexander Postnikov, head of the main department of the Russian Emergencies Ministry for Yugra Petr Kuguy will take part in the meeting.

The participants will discuss the prevailing situation and the readiness of the governing bodies, forces and assets of the territorial subsystem of Yugra’s Single State System for the Prevention and Elimination of Emergency Situations (RSES) to protect settlements, economic and infrastructure facilities from natural fires, as well as, inter alia, the fire situation in the Russian Federation and measures to improve fight against forest fires.

They will also discuss the forecast of hydrometeorological phenomena in the Autonomous Okrug in the summer of 2020.

Moreover, air monitoring of the situation with forest fires in the Soviet district will be carried out.
