From July 12 to July 24, 2022, the XI St. Petersburg International Opera for Everyone Festival will take place. According to the Committee for Culture of St. Petersburg, the program includes masterpieces of opera classics performed in the open air in the most beautiful architectural ensembles of the northern capital and suburbs.

The festival will open on the Cathedral Square of the Peter and Paul Fortress on July 12 at 19.00 with the Rimsky-Korsakov’s opera The Tale of Tsar Saltan based on the work by Pushkin. The opera was conceived for the 100th anniversary of the birth of the great poet in 1899 and has become one of the composer's favorite creations.

On July 16, in the Alexander Park, the audience will be able to enjoy the performance of Charles Gounod's Romeo and Juliet.

A special guest of the festival will be a staging of the rarely performed opera by Albert Lorzing "The Tsar and the Carpenter". The project is implemented with the support of the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives. Spectators will be able to see this opera on July 20 in Kronstadt on Anchor Square in front of the St. Nicholas Naval Cathedral.
