The jubilee international festival of author's animation in the open air "Insomnia" will be held in the Kaluga region from 14 to 18 July.
This year the festival will present a special program dedicated to the 110th anniversary of Russian animation. In just three huge screens, guests will see more than 200 of the best animated films from around the world.
In addition, dozens of musicians will perform on the stages and venues of "Insomnia". Among them are the groups Give a tank (!), Abstractor, a friend of a DJ, The Legendary Flower Punk, Nina Kolyada and other performers.
The festival will also feature a scientific laboratory with lectures and experiments, animation and craft workshops, recreation areas, a large children's meadow, art sites and galleries.
The organizers will install more than 20 art objects and installations, including the Headliner interactive art project, the legendary Zarya Carousel, the Loverinth love labyrinth and the wooden Airplane.
Guests of the festival will also be able to take part in a costume procession accompanied by live music, with drums and trumpets.
"Insomnia" is a non-commercial project. The festival is created by the hands of volunteers. All proceeds from ticket sales are used to cover organizational expenses.
