The Russian Geographical Society festival will be held in the capital's Zaryadye Park from August 18 to 28.
This year the main theme of the event will be the cipher word "G-E-O-G-R-A-F-I-Y", where each letter has its own meaning.
For example, the installation "Mountains" will allow climbing the highest peaks of the country, and the ice 3D installation "Arktika" will immerse guests in the world of the Far North and its marine inhabitants.
Folklore groups will perform on the Zaryadye Main Stage, master classes on folk art for children and adults will be held in the lecture hall, and traditional dwellings of indigenous peoples — the Bashkir yurt and the Yakut urasa — will be located near the Kremlin walls.
The guests will be able to explore endangered animal species, watch 360° films in a VR cinema, see great Russian travelers come to life in a holographic reality, learn about the most interesting tourist attractions in the country and be inspired to travel around Russia.
Events are planned throughout the Zaryadye Park, including outdoor and indoor spaces, as well as the square at the intersection of Varvarka and Moskvoretskaya streets.
