Global tourist mobility almost returned to the level of the 1990s

The Covid-19 pandemic has led to the loss of the global tourism industry's total revenue of $1 300 billion in 2020. These data was published by the UN World Tourism Organization.

Hotel bookings decreased by 47%, airline tickets - by 81%, and the number of tourists - by 74%.
If in pre-crisis 2019 the number of travelers around the world was 1 461 million people, then in 2020 this figure fell to 381 million people - 74% less.

During the pandemic, up to 120 million people lost their jobs in the tourism sector.
